Description:
last of three videos. NB I removed a large low growing branch which you can see in the first video but not the last. The remaining water shoots are evenly spaced and have not been touched-they will be left strictly alone and should prouce fruit buds in 2010 and fruit in 2011. If I am able to, I will film and upload this for instructional purposes./nNOTE the usual way of pruning a tree which looked like this in the first video is to saw back all the shoots by half. Bad idea unless you want to produce a really dense thicket. The tree is completely out of balance-it is all new growth, no fruit bud and no fruit. This selective thinning out of the dense growth of new shoots shold re-balance the tree within 2 years, it may need a bit of pruning next winter.
