Millet is an inseparable part of indigenous life, playing a major role in the food culture as well as in festivities. To help preserve the millet culture, pastor Dai Ming-xiong of Lalaulan community in Taitung formed a millet mill in June last year to promote the planting of the crop. Thanks to his efforts, the millet tradition has been revived. The once-abandoned millet farm is now full of life attracting visitors. The millet plantation helps develop the community and improve the financial conditions of the people.
