Description:
what is cold stratification? in nature the seeds fall from the trees in winter...consequently, seeds spend winter period under colder temperature...allowing or permitting the chemical in the seeds to develop and trigger the germination process...in this video i'm performing a forced germination and i attempt to recreate the winter period...to accomplish this process i'll be using a kitchen paper, folding it in half and moisten it with water not soaking wet but damp....place the seeds in the paper and fold the paper over the seeds....place them inside the plastic bag and sealed it with tape. Place them in the fridge in the vegetable compartment and stored them for a period varying 30 days to 120 days...every 30 days open the plastic to allow proper air circulation and to prevent to rot...check for germinated seeds, if this is the case, take the germinated seeds and proceed to the next step. If not, wait the required period and then proceed to the next step.
