Description:
This is some footage I took at Sunrise Farm: A 600 acre multiple occupancy community near Buchan in Victoria, Australia. Pete and Tam's hot-house is being used to cultivate seedlings. Many people in community are involved with seed cultivation and seed saving. There is an increased interest in harvesting and protecting native, and heirloom varieties of organic seeds for food and medicine. These seeds will provide income for Tam and Pete and produce veggies for their permaculture garden. The hot-house is home-made and Pete has wrapped material around the plastic frames to draw in moisture and cool air. When the door is opened (as it is during hot days in summer) hot air can escape so young seedlings don't get scorched. To learn more about Sunrise Farm visit http://wtree.vic.au/ Or read my blog for a brief summary. http://seetheemptycage.blogspot.com/2007/03/sunrise-farm.html Thanks for sharing Pete!
